21 Ways to Take Care of YOU
Stress can definitely take its toll on our bodies in many ways - physically, emotionally and mentally.
I find that when I feel like I don’t have the time to slow down, is actually when I need it the most!
It’s important to take some downtime and take care of YOU. You not only deserve it, but when you’re feeling rested and recharged, you can accomplish more and support others better.
Here are 21 ways to take care of you – pick one that you can do today – and every day.
Make it a point to do something you love every day, no matter how small.
Get enough sleep - I know easier said than done for some! What will help you get more quality sleep? Perhaps a relaxing night time ritual, the use of pure essential oils and a commitment to be in bed by 10pm?
Take the time to prioritize your day each morning (what are the top 2 -3 things you want to get done today?).
Remember to schedule tasks/appointments, events as evenly as possible throughout the week.
Reduce time on the computer and TV - have technology free time.
Take deep breaths during the day.
Eat slowly and mindfully. Allow yourself to be present with your meal rather than distracted.
Connect with family and friends.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Reach out for support whenever you need to.
Make time for yourself – enjoy a hobby or activity that makes you feel good.
Read a good book.
Exercise. Move your body in an enjoyable and fun way.
Speak to yourself more kindly.
Listen to music.
Open your windows and blinds during the day.
Remember your goals and aspirations. Better yet, write them down and review them daily.
Enjoy a hot relaxing bath.
Meditate and/or do yoga. Allow yourself space to connect within.
Get a massage or facial.
Go on a walk. Get outside and explore nature, take in the sights around you.
Be in gratitude. Create a daily gratitude practice.
Journal.
