Mindset Makeover
Did you know that the human mind is naturally biased to be more negative? Meaning, it is easier and more natural for us to focus on the negatives than it is to focus on the positives.
Does this ring true for you? Do you often find yourself thinking about all the things that aren't going well in your life instead of acknowledging all the things that are going well?
If so, despite our brains being wired to be this way inclined, we do have the power to retrain our brains to be more positive in nature. It takes awareness of our thoughts, and consistent, conscious effort to re-focus our minds. Which in my opinion is worth the effort, especially if you want to attract more of the good things in life!
Here are some simple ways to start shifting your focus from negative to positive :
1. Start saying positive affirmations; create a list of your favourite affirmations and stick them somewhere that you’ll see everyday and say atleast 3 out loud everyday
2. Start and End the day with a grateful heart; Think of 3 things you're most grateful for each morning and night
3. Be aware of your thoughts; Notice are they supporting you? Empowering you? Encouraging you? OR are they depleting you? Belittling you? Judging you? Focus on the ones that serve you well, and let go of the ones that don't
4. Watch your language! Notice when you are using words like ‘I cant’, ‘I should’, ‘I have to’ etc and change them to ‘I choose’, ‘I get to’, ‘I can’, ‘I am capable’ etc
5. Focus on the present and be mindful
6. Write a list of ‘I am’ Statements; I am (Healthy, worthy, smart, good enough, fun, caring, loving, loved, enough) Say them everyday!!
7. Recognise any limiting beliefs that are outdated, (use eft tapping to help you release these old beliefs) and create new beliefs that are more empowering
8. Create your very own mindset mantra that you can use when you most need it
9. Practice telling your mind what you want, it will listen!!
The mind is a powerful tool, when we learn how to master it, amazing things start to happen!
