My Favourite Essential Oils for Health & Wellbeing
Essential oils, in their purest form, have incredible health and wellbeing benefits. I was first introduced to Doterra essential oils about 3 years ago and have never looked back, I LOVE these beautiful oils and the endless support they provide for myself and my families overall health and wellbeing.
Although I love every bottle of oil I have there are a few favourites that I use numerous times a day. I have listed these here for you.
Lemon Oil:
I use lemon oil daily. I love to have a drop of lemon in warm water first thing in the morning to help kickstart my metabolism. I also love to use lemon as a natural cleaner for around the home - just a few drops added to some water and a spray bottle is all you need to spritz around the house, on kitchen surfaces, bench tops, bathrooms (anywhere really) and it leaves the house smelling fresh, clean and crisp. The best part, no harsh chemicals to worry about! I also love to add lemon oil to cooking and baking, and also it is beautiful in the diffuser for an invigorating, uplifting and energising aroma.
Lavender oil:
Ahh lavender oil is so relaxing. I used to find it so hard to fall asleep at night, id toss and turn and lie awake for hours before I could finally switch off. I now roll lavender on the bottoms of my feet and rub a couple of drops in my hands, cup it to my nose and inhale 3-5 times. I feel instantly relaxed and find it so much easier to fall asleep. Its an important part of my night time routine and am so grateful to have this little bottle of goodness!!
Frankincense oil:
Frankincense is renowned as being the 'king of oils'. It's one I turn to for pretty much everything! Its soothing and beautifying properties can be used to revitalise the appearance of the skin and help reduce the appearance of imperfections so I love to mix a drop to my moisteriser or add it to some fractionated coconut oil and use on my skin. When inhaled or diffused, Frankincense promotes feelings of peace, relaxation, satisfaction, and overall spiritual and emotional wellness. A couple of drops massaged into the bottoms of my feet is amazing to help me relax and unwind after a busy day. Also I love to add a drop of frankincense to my water to support my immune system.
Peppermint oil:
Another very versatile oil which I use daily is peppermint. I love to add a couple of drops to my bliss balls and smoothies and I love to inhale it straight from the bottle for a quick 'pick-me-up'. Its also great for whenever my daughter has a high temperature, I just add a couple of drops to a little spritzer with water and spray her body. Its a great one to diffuse for an uplifting aroma and I also love to add a drop to some water and use as a mouth rinse.
Wild Orange oil:
This beautiful citrus, invigorating and uplifting oil is so good! My favourite way to use wild orange is in a roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil which I use as a 'pure'-fume. I very rarely use commercial perfumes and fragrances as I now love to use my oils instead. They're such a beautiful way to help you smell amazing whilst also providing health benefits at a cellular level. Wild orange is another great one in cooking and baking, diffusing and cleaning.
There are so many more wonderful oils that I absolutely love. And still so many I am yet to try. There really is an oil for everything!!
